10 tips that can improve your complexion
Having a nice skin complexion takes more than just using the right products for your skin, so here are 10 tips to improve your overall skin complexion.
You should always be washing your face once in the morning and once at night before bed and avoid using hot water when washing. Hot water can be very drying, instead just use lukewarm water and rinse with cool water when you are done.
Use the right face wash!
- If you have dry skin, look for a face wash that says "hydrating" or "moisturizing."
- If you have oily skin, look for the labels "made for oily skin."
- If you have acne or blackheads, try "deep cleaning" or "purifying."
Do not touch your face. When constantly touching your face, it allows more dirt and bacteria to get into your pores.
Do not pop pimples. If you must pop a pimple, soften your skin's surface first with a hot washcloth and use a sterilized pimple extractor rather than your fingers. Once you are done, always clean the area to prevent bacteria buildup.
Clean your makeup brushes regularly. Dirty makeup brushes spread bacteria onto your face. This can lead to more of an easy breakout.
Protect yourself from the sun. Aim for your face to only see sunlight for about 20-30 minutes a day and always be wearing sunscreen even if it is cloudy outside.
Get 7-8 hours of sleep every night.
Drink at least 6-8 glasses of water every single day.
Every day you should be getting at least 30 minutes of exercise, when doing so it increases blood flow to your skin which helps it stay healthy.
Try to cut back on stress, smoking, and drinking as much as possible. Stress causes your skin to get even more oily which can lead to an easy breakout. Drinking and smoking causes your body to be dehydrated and makes the blood flow harder to get to your skin which means your skin is not fully getting the nutrients it needs.
